The Archuleta Economic Development Association is a 501 c(6) non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to enable, grow and sustain economic development in Archuleta County. We are an independent organization with Board members representing private business, local government, financial institutions, builders/developers, real estate agents, and local utilities. In 2008, AEDA completed a Targeted Industry study to identify key industries to focus on expanding and attracting to Archuleta County. The AEDA Targeted Industry Committee, which encompassed community leaders and AEDA Board Members, spent 18 months going through our local industry data. In the end, they identified 7 key industries that would help diversify and move our economy forward, as well as provide jobs that were much higher in salary than our current average. Another key finding was that many of these companies fit a certain profile known as Lone Eagles and High Fliers. View more about our Lone Eagle/High Flier Vision In addition, our business mentoring and training services help businesses in all sectors of the economy. We also work together with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to provide free mentoring service to all businesses in Archuleta County. In fact, the AEDA Executive Director is the only certified SBDC Business Mentor in the County. In addition, the AEDA focuses on helping Town and County officials provide a pro-business community. One of our more recent projects was to put together economic data in a joint effort with the Town and County. VIEW THE PRESENTATION (PDF) AEDA Vision AEDA Mission
