Enterprise Zones Provide Special Tax Incentives

An enterprise zone is defined as an economically lagging area of Colorado in which special tax incentives are offered to businesses that expand or locate in the zone. Archuleta County qualifies as one of these zones. The purpose of the tax incentives are to encourage economic development in the area.

Tax credits or exemptions may be taken by businesses located in the zone for a variety of business purposes. Credits are also available for private contributions to administrations implementing the economic development plan of the zone.
